At present, there are three main methods for removing conformal coatings: heating method, mechanical method, and chemical solvent method.

1. Heating method

Remove the three proof paint coating by high-temperature burning through heating.

Heating method may cause discoloration, deformation, burning residue, and adverse effects on solder joints or other components, especially thermal sensitive components, on the circuit board. This method generally uses an electric soldering iron for small area repair of individual components and cannot be used on a large scale.

2. Mechanical Law

Polish off the local paint film without damaging the product through mechanical grinding or sandblasting.

Mechanical methods have high requirements for operators' operating techniques, equipment, and abrasive particles. Improper operation can easily damage circuit boards or components, and is not universal.

3. Chemical solvent method

Dissolve or partially remove the paint film using chemical solvents, and suitable solvents have no effect on the components.

The chemical solvent method is simple and easy to implement, and it is also the most commonly used coating removal method by people. Finding and choosing an efficient, safe, and environmentally friendly cleaning agent is what many factories expect.
